From Scenarios to Signals - Transatlantic Forecasting Workshop

Invitation Only

Add to calendar:

Dear valued members,

Policymaking and strategic decision-making are, at their core, exercises in forecasting. Yet in today’s geopolitical environment—marked by systemic rivalry, regulatory fragmentation, and rapid technological change—anticipating future developments has become increasingly complex.

This exclusive workshop will introduce RANGE – Rethinking Assumptions in a New Geostrategic Environment, a flagship crowdsourced forecasting initiative developed by the Bertelsmann Stiftung and the Bertelsmann Foundation North America. RANGE applies a cutting-edge approach to strategic foresight by combining scenario planning with probabilistic forecasting, as highlighted by J. Peter Scoblic and Philip E. Tetlock in Foreign Affairs "A Better Crystal Ball. The Right Way to Think About the Future".

As part of a select European engagement series, the Bertelsmann Foundation North America will be traveling from the United States to several European capitals. Brussels has been chosen as a key stop to host this members-only session with AmCham Belgium, led by their Director of Transatlantic Relations.

The workshop will offer participants a practical introduction to how structured forecasting can help organizations better anticipate risks, identify early signals of change, and strengthen decision-making on key transatlantic issues.
