AmCham Belgium Welcomes Ambassador Gutman in Style
Kicked off by AmCham Belgium President Scott Beardsley, who greeted the 200 guests, the October 5 Gala Dinner was jointly organized by AmCham Belgium and the American Club of Brussels to welcome the newest member of the Belgian-American family: Ambassador Howard W. Gutman.
In his speech, the Ambassador was adamant about his commitment to visiting every town, village and commune in Belgium, as this was the best way to understand just how “deep our nations’ relationships run”. From the economy to Afghanistan to the problems of the US, of Belgium and of the world, according to Gutman, “If you create the partnerships, the people will come.” It was this theme of partnership that ran throughout the Ambassador’s speech and, as Gutman noted, through the administration of President Obama.
