DESCRIPTION:<a href="https://amcham.be/event/legal-taxation-committee-meeti

tion Committee will meeton Friday\, March 27\, from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at
Baker McKenzie (Avenue du Boulevard 21/1\, 1210 Brussels). Many thanks to
Lionel for organizing this meeting! The session will feature a high-level
update from Baker McKenzie on the recent and emerging developments relatin
g to U.S. tariff measures and their broader implications for multinational
tax and trade strategies. Recent announcements have introduced a renewed
level of complexity and uncertainty into global trade and supply chain pla
nning. Given the scale of these measures and their potential to impact eff
ective tax rates\, cash flow positioning\, transfer pricing models and cus
toms governance\, we believe it is particularly important for tax\, custom
s and finance leaders to have a clear\, balanced and forward-looking view
of the evolving landscape. During this session\, we will explore address t
he following questions: • What has occurred to date\, and why it matters
from a tax\, trade and governance perspective\; • What guidance has and
has not emerged from the U.S. Supreme Court\, and how this informs risk a
ssessment\; • Whether and to what extent refund opportunities may exist
under the IEEPA framework\; • How the current legal and policy environme
nt is likely to evolve\, and what signals tax leaders should be monitoring
\; • Whether we are witnessing the closing chapter of the Trump era tari
ff strategy or the beginning of a new cycle of trade intervention\; and
 • The broader economic and fiscal implications for multinational groups
operating across integrated supply chains. We look forward to welcoming yo
u to what we expect to be a timely Legal & Tax discussion. We would like t
o remind you that Committee Meetings are only for Committee Members. Inter
ested in joining one of our Committees/Subcommittees? Don't hesitate to ge
 t in touch!
