Brussels, 11 March 2015 — FTI Consulting, Inc. (NYSE: FCN), the global business advisory firm dedicated to helping organisations protect and enhance their enterprise value, today announced the expansion of its Public Affairs and Corporate Communications practices within the firm's Strategic Communications segment in Brussels with seven new appointments, including senior professionals from within the European Commission.
The new appointments include Massimo Baldinato, John Clancy, Kyra Obolensky and Roeland Van der Stappen as Senior Directors, Robrecht Vandormael as Director, Maria Tsoni as Senior Consultant and Matilda Wallmon as Consultant.
The Brussels team now comprises 60 consultants, all with strong public affairs and corporate communications expertise specialising in Telecom, Media & Technology (“TMT”), financial services, healthcare and life sciences, energy and natural resources, industrials, agrichemicals and competition policy.
Mr. Baldinato is a former Member of Cabinet of Antonio Tajani, who formerly served as the Vice President of the European Commission. Mr. Baldinato brings a wealth of experience to the TMT practice with particular expertise in issues related to intellectual property, state aid regulation, SMEs and entrepreneurship. In his new role at FTI Consulting, he will continue to build on TMT’s offerings incorporating data protection and privacy, digital single market, copyright, digital rights, competition and audio-visual media services.
Mr. Clancy previously served as the spokesperson to former European Union (“EU”) Trade Commissioner, Karel De Gucht, and will specialise in political communications at FTI Consulting, bringing extensive experience of issues related to trade, industry and foreign affairs.
Ms. Obolensky has more than nine years of experience in corporate communications, political communications and public affairs. Ms. Obolensky specialises in managing international campaigns and handling complex strategic issues in various sectors, including energy, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, ICT and professional and financial services.
Mr. Van der Stappen most recently served as the Policy Adviser at the European Round Table of Industrialists (“ERT”). Mr Van der Stappen’s previous experience includes seven years at EU Public Affairs consultancies, as well as with the EU Delegation to Tokyo, the Belgian Permanent Representation to the EU and the EU Delegation to Washington, D.C. In his new role at FTI Consulting, Mr. Van der Stappen will bring his Public Affairs expertise to advise FTI Consulting’s clients on financial services, taxation, digital economy, trade, competition policy and raw materials.
