EY relocates to Liège Office Center in April 2020; plans to double its workforce in Liège

Liège, February 20, 2020. In April, EY will leave its current premises on the Boulevard d'Avroy for the brand new Liège Office Center, a few steps from Guillemins train station. EY's 50 current Liège employees will take their desks in its brand new offices, which will also serve as satellite offices for all EY employees in the region. In this way, EY is anticipating new trends in the world of work, with employees looking for greater flexibility. EY also plans to double its workforce in Liège over the coming years to a hundred or so employees.

Liège hosts a very large number of cutting-edge companies in promising sectors like aeronautics, metallurgy, mechanics, biotechnology, information technology and the food industry. The university and its research centres constitute a breeding ground for up-and-coming enterprises, resolutely oriented towards the future, and making Liège the economic capital of Wallonia. This proximity to Walloon entrepreneurship is essential for our business. For years, our Liège office has seen its task as enabling more French-speaking companies to benefit from our range of skills, supporting them in their quest for sustainable growth and in the digital and ecological transition confronting them. These collaborations enrich us too, and we are expecting a lot from the exchanges between our staff and the various start-ups and companies that will invest in the Liège Office Center.

By choosing to install its new offices in the Liège Office Center, EY is putting its investment on a modern and rapidly changing neighbourhood, which includes a Regus facility, a hotel, accommodation and various shops. Totalling around 1,300 m² over two floors, the new offices will be designed to stimulate knowledge sharing, collaboration and creativity. Also, with different types of workstations, employees and clients can select the most appropriate workplace for the task in hand. This space will allow the company to host its 50 or so Liège employees, and implement its ambitious growth plans. EY plans to double its workforce in the region in the coming years.

Located in the heart of the district of the new Liège-Guillemins station, the new offices in the Liège Office Center are very easy to access. In terms of mobility, the district is a true intermodal centre. Roads and motorways, public transport and soft mobility complement each other for easy accessibility, offering employees fluid and rapid communications with the city centre, the region and all of Europe.

This was an essential criterion. For the past few years, we've been emphasizing the importance of alternative modes of transport for our staff, for reasons of both comfort and ecology. Our new location is ideal for this and will help us in this transition.

The company has already adopted this strategy with its recent office relocations in Hasselt, Ghent and Antwerp.

The ecological assets of the project go well beyond the location proper. The building itself stands out for its high environmental quality, built to specifications well beyond prevailing standards. These include the “very good BREEAM” label, synonymous with limited environmental impact and minimum energy consumption.
