Delta celebrates return of Brussels-Atlanta service


BRUSSELS, March 27, 2016 – Delta Air Lines [NYSE: DAL] has marked the return of its Brussels-Atlanta service with an event at Brussels Airport. Flights will operate year-round with a daily service over the summer season doubling Delta’s Brussels network during the peak travel months – the airline currently offers nonstop service to New York-JFK.

Nat Pieper, Delta’s Senior Vice President Europe, Middle East and Africa was joined by dignitaries from the airport, including Piet Demunter, Director of Strategy, Brussels Airport Company and Pascal Struyve, Global Travel, Fleet & Meeting Services Director Ingersoll-Rand for the inaugural ceremony. The flight also departed to the traditional water canon salute.

“We are committed to serving Brussels and to offering the very best on-board experience to our customers,” said Nat Pieper, Delta’s Senior Vice President-Europe, Middle East and Africa. “We’ve served Belgium for over 25 years and have transported almost 5 million customers on our flights and now as we enter the summer season, we’re responding to increased demand for travel between Belgium and the U.S. by resuming a second daily service.”

Delta has scheduled a Boeing 767 aircraft on the Brussels-Atlanta service, which is operated in conjunction with joint venture partners Air France and KLM. Thanks to Delta’s invest in the on-board experience, every flight from Belgium is equipped with on-demand Wi-Fi so customers can stay connected at 30,000 feet.

Meanwhile, Customers travelling in the Delta One business class cabin will enjoy fully flat-bed seats and a range of chef-created seasonal dining options accompanied by wines selected exclusively for Delta by Master Sommelier Andrea Robinson.

Delta’s Atlanta and New York-JFK hubs have a number of amenities for passengers, including multiple food and retail outlets. Delta One customers also have complimentary access to the Delta Sky Clubs, which feature open air Sky Deck terraces and specially-selected food and beverage options.
