During our traditional Thanksgiving Walking Dinner last week, we were proud and excited to announce the winners of the second edition of our AmChampion Awards to recognize those member companies that were most engaged with AmCham Belgium over the past year. For those who missed the news, our AmChampions ’19 are: in the small company category, Whyte Corporate Affairs and, in the large company category, KPMG Belgium.
Congratulations to the winners – we are deeply grateful for your engagement and commitment!
We had the opportunity to speak to our AmChampions ’19 at Thanksgiving, and here’s what they had to say about winning this award and why they think it is important to engage with AmCham Belgium.
We also asked our AmChampions ’19 if they have a favorite AmCham Belgium moment. Koen Van Ende, Partner Corporate Tax Practice at KPMG Belgium, talked about the strength of knowledge-sharing within our community:
When I saw the group of young professionals attend the Young Professionals @ Noon luncheon at KPMG with Koen Maerevoet earlier this year, it brought back many good memories. I always learned something from these sessions because the CEOs openly shared experience from their careers, also at a personal level. This sharing of experience and knowledge between the AmCham Belgium members and the different stakeholders is one of the Chamber’s key strengths in my experience.
Sandrine Agie, Partner at Whyte Corporate Affairs, recalled the #Yes2Belgium Event organized by AmCham Belgium two years ago after the tragic attacks in Paris and Brussels:
I was very proud to see AmCham engage to restore the image and reputation of Belgium and, to that end, gather the business community in an event with the Belgian Prime Minister. I was proud to see what AmCham could organize and how it could use the power of its network to benefit Belgium.
Once again, congratulations to our AmChampions ’19, KPMG Belgium and Whyte Corporate Affairs! Keep on inspiring us and our community!
