AmCham Belgium announces new staff and staffing changes, following the retirement of long-time Director Sheila Rosseau.
We would once again like to thank Sheila for her unwavering commitment to AmCham Belgium over 38 years.
To support our growing advocacy efforts, AmCham Belgium has strengthened our policy team with the recruitment of Melissa Vida as Policy Officer. Having been raised in Los Angeles and in Brussels, Melissa is committed to improving US-Belgian (business) relations. She holds a Master’s degree in European Studies from Université libre de Bruxelles and understands the importance of policymaking. Melissa is eager to work with our member companies to identify their concerns and further develop our positions and contribute to publications, such as our Priorities for a Prosperous Belgium. In her free time, you’ll find Melissa painting and traveling.
We are also pleased to announce that Corianne Oosterbaan, who started at the Chamber last October as our Events & Marketing Intern, will stay on as a permanent member of staff in the new role of Public Affairs Assistant. She will continue to support our events team, while taking on more responsibilities in membership and marketing and serving as staff liaison for our Innovative Healthcare Committee. Corianne holds a Bachelor’s degree in English Language and Culture and China Studies from Leiden University, which included a year in Beijing studying Mandarin, and a Master’s degree in Management from Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University Rotterdam. She originally moved to Brussels last year for a traineeship at the European Commission.
Lastly, Daniel Pyster, Communications Manager at AmCham Belgium since 2012, has been promoted to External Affairs Director; in this new position, he will oversee both communications and events, and he will continue to work closely with our policy team to develop key messages. Daniel will also serve as the new staff liaison for our Executive Committee and Board of Directors.
