Keep Up on All the Latest Happenings with AmCham Belgium’s Focus Articles
When was the last time you stopped by www.AmCham.be? If it’s been awhile, you should make it a habit! There’s a lot going on at AmCham Belgium and our website is the place to stay informed. In other words, AmCham Belgium’s website is positioned to serve as the source for news and information affecting all aspects of doing business in Belgium.
Keeping in Focus
For example, our homepage is regularly updated with Focus Articles. These articles cover current political and economic news that has a direct impact on our members. More so, our Focus Articles also give AmCham Belgium the opportunity to portray its point of view on various issues and offer our recommendations – typically relating back to our Priorities for a Prosperous Belgium.
Our Focus Articles are in-depth and diverse. For example, the OECD recently released a report on the labor costs relative to the costs of production, finding that labor costs in Belgium increased three times faster than in Germany. The article focuses on Belgium’s fast-growing labor costs and how it compromises economic growth and foreign direct investment. This wage handicap leads to a loss in competitiveness and AmCham Belgium recommends reducing the nominal social security charges.
Another example of the invaluable information found on our website is a Focus Article discussing a Conference Board survey finding that Belgium was ranked the 3rd most productive country and how this may constitute as both a strong and weak point for Belgium (all depending on how you look at it).
Our current Focus Article is in relation to the problems that Europe is facing as a result of an ageing population and the challenges this places on Belgium’s ability to finance its pensions.
…But of course this is all old news for those who make visiting www.AmCham.be a regular part of doing business!
