AmCham Belgium has the support of numerous, issue-orientated committees who add their expertise and knowledge to the organization’s many functions. More than 200 people Doing Business in Belgium donate their time to the American Chamber of Commerce in Belgium as members of the standing Committees and the numerous working groups, taskforces and subcommittees.
Executive Committee
The Executive Committee defines AmCham Belgium’s strategy, reviews organizational activities, coordinates the execution of Chamber policies and oversees the day-to-day activities of the Secretariat.
Communications Committee
The Communications Committee positions AmCham Belgium as the authority on improving the climate for doing business in Belgium and for U.S. Invest in Belgium.
Human Resources Committee
The Human Resources Committee aims to improve the overall climate for doing business in Belgium for both American companies in Belgium and multinational corporations. The Committee offers U.S. businesses in Belgium a unique HR perspective and works closely with AmCham Belgium members, the government, employers, employee associations and all businesses in Belgium.
Membership Committee
The Membership Committee works to understand the needs and requirements of the American Chamber of Commerce in Belgium’s diverse membership and identifies and implements new membership services and benefits.
Legal and Taxation Committee
The Legal and Taxation Committee monitors significant tax and legal developments occurring in Belgium and the E.U. that have important implications to U.S. businesses in Belgium. The Committee works constructively to influence legislative and administrative decisions – always promoting the best interest of American companies doing business in Belgium.
Nominations Committee
The Nominations Committee presents candidates to the Board of Directors for election to the Board, proposes candidates to fill interim vacancies on the Board of Directors and presents the slate of officers to the Annual General Meeting.
Young Professionals Committee
The Young Professionals Committee’s role is to stimulate and optimize the dialogue between the younger professionals (~18-35) and the American/Belgian business community in Belgium.
