Our Mission
The Legal and Taxation Committee is charged with working to improve the climate for doing business in Belgium, particularly for American companies in Belgium. The Committee accomplishes this by taking a proactive approach to educating European Union and Belgian government authorities about issues concerning businesses in Belgium.

Committee Projects
Working closely with AmCham Belgium’s numerous Taskforces and Members, the Committee coordinates a wide array of projects all aimed at improving the climate for Doing Business in Belgium. The Committee’s work has led to many positive outcomes for Belgium businesses and American companies in Belgium. Most notably, the Committee played a vital role in the ratification of the U.S. – Belgium Income Tax Treaty and the Notional Interest Deduction.

The Legal and Taxation Committee provides members with regular updates on its activities and the latest developments affecting businesses in Belgium. To keep AmCham Belgium members informed, the Committee regularly produces and contributes to Position Papers, Lobby Flash, Third-Party Documents and conference reviews.
