The AmCham U.S.-Belgium Award

Recognizing Those Who Promote U.S.-Belgium Relations

The AmCham U.S.-Belgium Award

Recognizing Those Who Promote U.S.-Belgium Relations

The AmCham U.S. - Belgium Award was launched in 2008 to honor and recognize achievements in promoting and strengthening U.S. - Belgium relations.

For over 60 years, The American Chamber of Commerce in Belgium has actively supported U.S investment in Belgium and promoted U.S. – Belgium business relations. AmCham Belgium seeks a broad spectrum of award nominees whose innovative, creative and intellectual achievements have drawn wide public attention and success.

A nominee may be either an individual or organization that:
  • Realized a major achievement in fostering understanding between the U.S. and Belgium
  • Sustained continuous commitment to strengthening U.S. and Belgian relations
  • Raised the visibility of either Belgium in the U.S. or the U.S. in Belgium

Evaluation Process

  1. The first selection of a shortlist of 20 nominees was made by our Joint Communications and Membership Task Force comprising AmCham Belgium Committee members.
  2. The selection of the four finalists and the winner was made by the Selection Panel, chaired in 2008 by former Prime Minister Guy Verhofstadt.
  3. The award was presented to the winner at the 60th Anniversary Gala Celebration on Friday, September 26, 2008 at the NYSE Euronext Stock Exchange in Brussels.
