Brussels meets Europe with Baron Paul Buysse

Thursday, September 30, 2010 - 12:00 - 14:15

Beci along with AmCham Belgium, The Bulletin and Britcham has organized the next Brussels Meets Europe event taking place on September 30, 2010.

                                    BME Organizers

On this occasion the guest speaker is Baron Paul Buysse, Chairman of Bekaert and an international business leader. For several decades he managed important international London based companies, e.a. BTR plc (10 billion GBP turnover). He also saved Vickers plc from bankruptcy through a thorough restructuring with e.g. the turmoil creating sale of Rolls Royce and Bentley. Currently he is Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bekaert NV/SA, an international Belgian group with a turnover of €3.2 billion.

He is also Chairman of the “Compagnie Immobilière de Belgique”, the Prince Filip Foundation, the College of Censors of the National Bank of Belgium and of Family Business Network Belgium. Moreover he holds positions at several Boards, as well as other functions such as member of the Executive Committee of the Federation of Belgian Industry (FEB) and Chairman of the International Chamber of Commerce. He is also the originator of the Code Buysse, a Corporate Governance-manual for non-listed companies.

This event will give you the ideal opportunity to meet and exchange views with Baron Buysse, who will give a keynote speech titled "The underlying challenges for international growth."
